It doesn't say anywhere in the official contest rules that you can't change the amount of cars on the train. I have built mine to withstand 7, but It just wanted to clarify, so people don't feel cheated if their bridge is built to be stronger than it needs to be.

Yes, the bridge must work with 7 cars.
