You can play through level 3 in the demo version, but can't play any of level 4.

Is my PC playing tricks on me or does the 6.6.02 demo have a corrupted lightnin.wav?

Yes. Mine was corrupted too. Since i just overwrote the old install-file, i downloaded the linux-version. The lightnin.wav there seems to be ok :).

HTH,

I LOVE THE GAME!!!!!

I didn't even like tetris :P  But i can't stop playing the demo of Triptych™

And yes i did reach the level limit and am counting the seconds until I receive the e-mail with my registration code.  I payed through pay-pal.. maybe that makes it take longer *shrug*

Anyway, you've created another classic game... my hat's off to you!!!!

ps. santa cruz rules, i used to live there :)

If you want to check out some of Chronic Logic's high scores for Triptych, check out http://www.chroniclogic.com/highscore.html.  Remember, we've been playing it for awhile, so don't get discouraged :).

So - at least I'm on position 4 then. Do you have the EASY/MEDIUM scores too? Would be interesting because i like to play the easy game, as it lasts longer and the points get higher and higher and higher ... just right to 560k :)

(UPDATE) UH ... ####... that are the expert-scores :|. My best expert score is still 17k... *G* ... will go and play triptych the whole night now ;).

CL gets more of my hard earned cash! But what am I complaining for?! It's far less then the cost of a round of golf and I will spend more time with it for sure :). I hope there are more secrets in Triptych like there were in Pontifex, I really enjoy those. Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately, it takes paypal a couple days to process the order, so as soon as the money is received by swreg, you'll get your keycode.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

We are thinking of a way that we can have people submit their high scores and keep a master list, our highscore list is actually a little old, I will update it today.

Even on 'hard', I reach the limit every time, without trouble...
Guess that's what a demo is about :)

Double post -_-;;;

Anyway, the pic above is significant because I let my brother play and he succesfully managed to get the red piece to balance on top of two other red pieces without charging up. =D

Well, with continuing my tradition of being too broke to get the full versions of shareware games, I found (find :D) it fun to mash up the triptych demo has hard as I can.

I've found a bug - You know those pieces which are three-of-the-same color and are charged up right from the start? Well, it is possible to press spacebar to "drop" those pieces when parts of them are still over the red line.

This in itself is not the bug - However, if the next piece in line has a tile the same color as the previous pre-charged piece, AND overlaps the area where the pre-charged piece was when you hit spacebar, that tile also starts charged up.

Its a minor annoyance, and it happens like in 1/1,000,000 (I should know, I've been playing this demo nonstop for a long time now and its occured only once for me ;) ) but I thought you people would like to know.

BTW, my high score for the demo is 49025 on Hard, with a High Bonus of 1300. Pretty nifty, considering I get three measly levels to work with. =P There's usually never enough time to get anything more than 30k. Screenshots forthcoming, as soon as I have access to my web host again.

Edit: Spoke too soon, my high score is now 56500, with a High Bonus of 1400 ;P

Methinks the corners have an insensitive area to keep a checkerboard pattern from charging up when it is lightly compressed - haven't checked this assumption thoroughly yet, though.

In the title screen, the dot in "i" turns green when klicked... Can't figure out if it really does anything. Can you?

Has anyone tried Triptych yet?
I really like it, pushing and squeezing blocks around... The decade-old concept of columns still has potential!

The only 'problem' I have noticed is that sometimes blocks that look like they're touching don't energize until squeezed together properly - maybe the 'sensivity' should be increased a little bit...?

Yes they have to do more then just touch, they have to be in a certain proximity to each other, smashing em together always helps :)  If anyone has any high scores, lets post em here, i would like to see what people can get, we have been playing this a bunch and have some pretty good scores.

Triptych is a cool game but has the standard-problem every tetris-based game has.

I'm colorblind to red and green (Don't know the correct word in english, sorry) and have therefor serios problems to tell the green and yellow bricks apart.

So what's really needed in Triptych is a option to select the color-scheme of the brick manualy.

Apart from that: COOOL Game

I think a feature that would enhance the game in a good way would be a 'custom game' option with adjustable 'board' size, number of colors, drop time, game speed, gravity, etc. - for those who get bored with the standard game and/or want to experiment...

Also, I can imagine an 'enhanced' game mode with special blocks/powerups, for example if you manage to fill the bonus bar completely, a (controllable) 'ball lightning' could appear that energizes multiple blocks of the same color even if they are a short distance apart...

Additionally :) . the block textures should be put in a .bmp file so that the player can replace them with his own.

We will try and figure out an easy solution for the problems for colorblind people.  We thought of most of your ideas grey, but did not have time to implement them.  Did all of you who tried the demo get to the level 3 limit?
