This may have been done before but if you make 2 platforms with a hinge on top of each other, and make one horizontal and one vertical, and then join the corners up with invisible bars, you make a 'turnstile' object which is quite fun to play on.
I tried to adapt it to make some primitive gears but haven't perfected that yet

No, I'll put it in my next level.
I only have 1 completed level so far, but I spent *ages* on it. It takes about 10 minutes to play through
