Unfortunately Chronic Logic is not responsible for any of the versions of Gish on Steam, you will need to use to contact through Steam to get in touch with the other developers who can help you. Chronic Logic can't update the Steam version.

Any image editing software should work, just make sure you save as the right format. I forget what software was used originally but it would be old now.

I think they are a 32bit RGBA file with 8 bits per channel.

What version of the game are you running? What OS?

Which version of Gish do you have? It should be in turbo mode by default if you have the latest version.

What version of BCS are you running?

This is not the place for discussion of the Steam version of Gish. It is actually not supported by Chronic Logic and Chronic Logic is not responsible for Gish on Steam. You should post in the Steam forums.

You know there is a level editor in Gish right? It is rough and could definitely be improved but just wanted to make sure you are aware of it.

What version of BCS are you using? I don't know what Windows 8.1 would not be backwards compatible but maybe something is different. Can you find the "hwconfig.txt" and "settings.txt" files anywhere?

The game still works? Is your sound in the game working? That is strange. You could try updating your Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio drivers. At least make sure you have the latest versions. Other than that I am not sure what else it could be.

Windowed mode has been added with the latest release (1.73).
