I have temporarily removed the links to the bridges for competition sake.. I will re-activate the links on December 1st.. That way you will need to try to get a record w/o modifying the current record.   So keep uploading your zipped bridges as usual.  I have only removed the links to the bridges for Pontifex 2.. the pontifex section remains unchanged.

Please visit if you haven't already:
http://Pontifex.PhantomTech.info/

I will be either providing Pontifex 2 as an addition to this site, or providing a sister site for Pontifex 2.  If you have a request as to something that this site hasn't offered, or something you think would work better differently, please feel free to email me.  darkwolfnine@attbi.com

Thank you,

New Levels / New levels

I just finished the design of my 16 levels (My Map pack so to speak) I am still tweaking money, etc. But I will make them available when they are finished being tweaked.  BTW, in the ones I have tested and had a couple people test, this map pack is definately for experts.

My 16 levels, zipped up came to something like a whopping 9K.  So I don't think there will be a space problem.  I went through and finalized the first 10 levels last night.  I should be able to do the rest soon. Then you guys can have some more time killers to play. I haven't figured out how to successfully get the train track in the levels, but that is just eye candy at the moment.  I am trying my map pack in hard to make sure that they are at least possible.   I think it would be very cool if Chronic Logic made it available for us to have menu options to add our custom map pack.  But for now you just have to load level. I will keep you guys updated on my pack. I would say no later than Tuesday. (Would be out sooner but I am driving to Seattle for the weekend)

Kvinge, I agree. I think that after enough textures have been created, we can get together and come up w/ the best grass texture for 5, etc. And make like a master texture pack. But that would still give us the ability to design our own.  But I like it.

I agree.  I like the idea of a texture pool except, I think instead of making everyone append to mine, for example, we could label each texture slot available.  So our texture packs can be interchangeable, w/o looking to wierd.  For example.  My Text005.bmp is a grass texture. and my Text004 is (top gravel - bottom grass).

Something to that effect so that If someone doesn't like my grass texture they can create a texture pack replacing Text005.bmp w/ another grass texture.  That way we don't use up like 5 texture slots w/ different grass textures. And secondly, My maps will still look okay (if they replaced all the textures with the similar style.) with someone else's texture pack.

Does this make sense? Not sure if it came out the way I was thinking it.   Otherwise, love this thread.  I will definately let you know when my next map pack comes out.

P.S. My Texture Example:

Being that it is a grid and not so much a texture for a level, I would recommend having it as the last available texture.  (so what would that be? 34?)

Just a thought.

New Levels / My MapPack - Finished

Klei,

I don't have a problem with you putting them up on your site. I do just ask that you follow two guidelines in order to do so:

1. Give me Credit (obviously)

2.  Don't modify the zip files. (I.E. putting in a text file in the zip file that said it was taken from your site)

TTYL,

DarkWolfNine

Regarding the Textures: Thank you all for your input.  I will continue to create levels utilizing both the standard and texture enhanced.

New Levels / My MapPack - Finished

Thank you guys for your compliments.  Its good to know that my levels are being enjoyed.  I have a new idea for my second map pack to try to increase the difficulty (similar to my Number 11 level of this map pack) But I was going to have a piece of track somewhere that the bridges must use.  That way I can make people go up and down, etc.  Could be interesting.   I will let you know how it is coming along.

Thanks,
DarkWolfNine

P.S. Did you guys try them with the textures or w/o? Should I continue using them, or just go back to the standard?

I have a page up for you to download my first attempt at a MapPack.  I also have created up some custom textures to use, which makes the eyecandy all the better.

(I have two versions of the MapPack, one for use with my custom textures, and the other without)

http://Pontifex.PhantomTech.info/

Snag it. You won't be disappointed.

DarkWolfNine

P.S. Attention all Texture creators.  I would like us to get together to create a standard for the textures, so that all of ours will be interchangable.    Contact me if you are interested.

Do you have a post limit before you can use your custom avatar?  I uploaded it just fine, and I don't get the CUSTOM option in the drop-down.

New Levels / My MapPack

Kvinge,
I think that they are harder than the original 32 levels.  I started my MapPack before the new version came out the the next levels, and I told myself that I would wait to play them until I released mine.

Gray,
Thank you for your input, I will definately make some changes for the better I am sure.  I didn't want to make my levels seem too impossible, but then again, that seems to be what people are wanting, so maybe if I start a MapPack sequel, I will make them way tougher, (although, the last couple are pretty difficult)  The .info domain I just registered last week. It is gonna be my play around domain, I will have a website up on it soon, thanks for the compliment.  And on a final note, You have my permission to add them to www.bridgebuilder-game.com. (I even sent an email w/ the link to it to the levels email there, at the same time as posting it here. Since that is where I first got addicted to this. LOL)

Thanks for the input guys. I hope these will give you at least 20 more minutes of fun, heh.
