Gish Editor / Editing existing levels?
October 18, 2004, 07:24:34 PM
I hate level 3-5.  With a passion.  The section with the two sliding blocks that travel through a tunnel studded with spikes is the bane of my existence.  It's no fun whatsoever, causes me huge amounts of frustration and IMHO detracts from an otherwise fun game.

So, I tried editing it to remove some of the spikes.  It worked... sort of.  The problem is that the colors on that level went wonky when I played it afterwards.  It was playable, but quite ugly.  Anyone know what the trick is to edit an existing level without destroying it?  (I tried saving over the level, and when that didn't work, restored the original level, re-edited and saved to a new file, which I then replaced the original with.  Neither worked.)

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Gish Editor / Editor doesn't work
October 12, 2004, 06:33:05 PM
I've downloaded the Mac OS X version of the editor, and have fixed the problem with the executable file not actually being executable.  I can start up the editor, but then I just get a mostly-black screen with some white and gray rectangles on it (which look almost like lines of text that have been blocked over), and a large white square for a cursor.  Pressing F1 does absolutely nothing, but clicking on some of these rectangles causes things to happen -- like making the editor quit, or causing different screens full of rectangles to appear.

Anybody else seeing this?

General Discussion / Help on level 5-3?
October 11, 2004, 11:28:10 PM
On level 5-3, there are a bunch of U-shaped tunnels with slippery walls on one side where, AFAICT, the goal is to zoom down one side really fast and hope that you reach the top on the other side.  This level has me so frustrated I'm starting to regret spending money on this game, though no doubt that feeling will pass once I've figured it out.

How do I do this level?  I managed to get past the first few in about half an hour of trying, but then got to an extra-high one that I can't even come close to getting through.  What's the trick?

Thanks in advance!

Beat the game on Normal difficulty to unlock the Single Level mode.
