i went on the magic, um, site that reviewed Pontifex (i beleive it started with an "F" . . its somewhere, i thing in the GD forum) and hey had this up ther.

anywho . . you build a robot from a chassi and then probably several hundred other components . .

then you give it moves . . by moving the joints and tellng it when to do that during themove

and then you give it AI to tell it which way to go and when, and when to do the moves.

then you test battle it .  against any bot on your comp.

it runs on a B&W grid REAL REAL slow . . about 20 secs for one game sec, because it is calculateing everything, and

Then it switches to high qualit mode, and it runs smooth because the battle has already been recorded.

i have seen some specacular battls, and even better bots of min . .  some of which worked in the way i wanted to.

its fun stuff, go to www.roboforge.com and gab the demo.

its 30 megs, but if you wanna buy it all you have to do is pay em 20 dolla and it loses its softwrap thingy.

the idea is onlin ness.

its based on touraments, some of which have cash prizes.

I have a solution with 244 broken links (232 on its own) on hard setting. I don't use the submerged foundations, though... http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Arch type seem the strongest, but suspension also have their place. I'm torn! Some of the coolest I've made look like turtles and are very strong.

They'd release it full of bugs, and then release patches that replaced the original bugs with worse bugs. And so on....
