BCS General / i love building drawbridges
October 12, 2002, 08:52:49 PM
man.... great thinking on Chronic Logic's part on this one....   here are some examples of drawbridge goodness:

http://www.angelfire.com/indie/theaterensemble/temp/greatmot.pfb" target='_blank'>http://www.angelfire.com/indie/theaterensemble/temp/greatmot.pfb  I love the way this one moves

http://www.angelfire.com/indie/theaterensemble/temp/vertical.pfb" target='_blank'>http://www.angelfire.com/indie/theaterensemble/temp/vertical.pfb   Pulls straight up, fun

you can see why i want to make a cool drawbridge level... medium three is too small......

Yes, you can.

It's kinda wierd, and won't show it at first, but if you click on the two anchors, you can do it.

And, if you build the deck first, you can drop suspension cable on it.  It will usually stretch and break it, though http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>

General Discussion / Hey Grey!
February 19, 2002, 02:20:00 PM
Webster's New Encyclopedic Dictionary, 1996 edition, lists "Gray" as a "Common English Given Name"; "Grey" is not listed.
In the section on "Biographical, Biblical and Mythological Names" I find Thomas Gray (1716-71), an English Poet; or Zane Grey (1875-1939), an American author, next to Lady Jane Grey (1537-54), who was an English noblewoman beheaded as a possible rival for the throne (at less than 18 years of age, too!).

Neither Calastigro nor Cagliostro are listed in Webster's, but google says you are the former and the latter was an adventurer and self-styled magician of the 18th century. :-)

mendel (not Gregor, but a short form of Mendelsohn, which is not directly related to Mendelssohn-Bartholdy).

General Discussion / I'm really disappointed.
January 26, 2002, 06:45:18 AM
ChronicLogic, I'm disappointed in you.  You promised contests, activity, and generally fun when I bought Pontifex, and now, the 25 of January, 2002, the latest news is of the 30th of October of last year.  I want more contests, and more to the point: More content.  Map packs.  Come on.  We paid our ฤ.  Keep up your end.

General Discussion / Tower Building
October 27, 2001, 12:01:15 AM
I've been building towers and the like for a couple of hours now, and had so much fun doing it, i thought i'd share.

http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/dragonsden/randomstuff/calapend.pxb" target='_blank'>http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/dragonsden/randomstuff/calapend.pxb

That's a tower i've made that has an attached pendulum that'll distroy it, but if you take that off and play in god mode, it's really quite interesting to see how good the phizzikks engine (i always over-misspell physics because i can never get it right) really is.  Hope you have fun.

General Discussion / "We care a lot"?
November 20, 2001, 11:58:09 PM
I just noticed that on the main page... it says "We care a lot" with quotes... that set me to thinking, who are they quoting?  Then i remembered that Faith No More song titled, aptly, We Care a Lot.  (BTW Faith no more and esp. Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle) are the greatest).

We care a lot is a great song, and i was wondering, CL, is that a reference?

This may not belong in this forum, on second thought, so feel free to berate me for putting it here...

later...

I donno... i just liked the balance of that... the obviousness of what happened...

Props to Darkwolf9 for the level, it was one of his levelpack levels.

Note:  Everything was stationary, the hav was stuck in that ground.

General Discussion / Building Golden Gate style Bridges

yes, stress it slow, don't just drop kick all the invisible hand-of-god supports out from under it when you hit test . . . let it start curved and bent and stuff.
