In the funny pontifex bridge section, you credit me for the twist tower, but it was really Baggio, he made it on a level i made.  i'd appreciate if you gave him credit.  thanks.

General Discussion / I'm really disappointed.

ChronicLogic, I'm disappointed in you.  You promised contests, activity, and generally fun when I bought Pontifex, and now, the 25 of January, 2002, the latest news is of the 30th of October of last year.  I want more contests, and more to the point: More content.  Map packs.  Come on.  We paid our ฤ.  Keep up your end.

General Discussion / Tower Building
October 27, 2001, 12:01:15 AM
I've been building towers and the like for a couple of hours now, and had so much fun doing it, i thought i'd share.

That's a tower i've made that has an attached pendulum that'll distroy it, but if you take that off and play in god mode, it's really quite interesting to see how good the phizzikks engine (i always over-misspell physics because i can never get it right) really is.  Hope you have fun.

General Discussion / "We care a lot"?
November 20, 2001, 11:58:09 PM
I just noticed that on the main page... it says "We care a lot" with quotes... that set me to thinking, who are they quoting?  Then i remembered that Faith No More song titled, aptly, We Care a Lot.  (BTW Faith no more and esp. Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle) are the greatest).

We care a lot is a great song, and i was wondering, CL, is that a reference?

This may not belong in this forum, on second thought, so feel free to berate me for putting it here...

later...

I donno... i just liked the balance of that... the obviousness of what happened...

Props to Darkwolf9 for the level, it was one of his levelpack levels.

Note:  Everything was stationary, the hav was stuck in that ground.

A person can post a lot and know nothing, you realize.  the titles should be about the tremendous time that person spends on pontifex... up to 'Has no personal life' ; )

something i have done, which i think is cool, is on some levels where it's really hard to make a supported bridge, i didn't.  I built out, then made a bridge floating, to be dropped when you hit test.  it works well on certain levels (like complex #15).  I'll e-mail you a copy if you wanna see...

General Discussion / Building Golden Gate style Bridges
October 14, 2001, 08:33:11 PM
A while ago, i was putzing around, and i wanted to make golden-gatey bridges.  First problem?  Making cables curved, slack, and able to be attached to things along their run.  My solution?  build the shape of cable out of steel, then delete it, leaving the points behind.  then connect the dots.  wow!  i'm surprised that worked.  yeah.  i hope this helps people out there.

General Discussion / Best HW platform
October 19, 2001, 12:15:31 AM
After about a gForce 256 (gforce 1) the gfx card doesn't matter.  When you have a giant suspension bridge, and it needs to calculate the exact force on all the members, your CPU is extremely important.  so... the min system that would run it smoothly ALL the time... Athalon 1.4ghz and a gForce 256 (unlikely combo...).
