Do I win a free game because I am the first to find this forum, this message and the patch? http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Seriously, is this forum supposed for everyone to put CL news in?

You can reply to threads here, but only mods/admins can start one.

Gish Support / Unable to squeeze through small holes?
August 19, 2004, 11:40:31 AM
I find if you jump, and go slick just before you hit the hole, it pushes you down enough that you don't have to do that much wiggling before you're in. It's a lot easier with Mini-Gish, though. :)

Have you also found all of the Warp Zones?
(3 Classic-Games and 2 Devil Islands)

I've played the game through two times now,
second with finding every secret and two Warp Zones,
but it seems like I'm not getting anything in reward. http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>

Any ideas or helping hints?

Unfortunately not. I can't even find both secrets on 1-1. I've got one Warp Zone, and both endings. That's about it.

General Discussion / Who has beat Gish?
June 01, 2004, 06:32:51 PM
Phew. Finally beat the game. Those hell levels are a bitch-and-a-half. Took me about 5-6 days total, playing on and off.

A level editor has me absolutely panting in anticipation, though. You could do *so* much cool stuff with this game it's not even funny.

That's pretty impressive. My current high is 131,110, but I'll be a-workin' on beating you.

Edit: Read it and weep. :)

General Discussion / secret level list

nope, there are 7 warp zones!
isle of ded, sataan, pitfall, mario, warp to egypt and 2 or 3 more!

You were lied to. Check for yourself. If you rename any of the .lvl files to playroom.lvl, you can access it using the 'Play room' option in your player menu. (Make sure to back up your playroom.lvl file first, naturally.)

Which is kinda cool, actually. Unfortunately, the scale change and pixellation filter aren't saved for the SMB and Pitfall levels, for some reason. Which is odd, as the VS. and collection .lvl files are self-contained.

And I don't think they're being hidden anywhere else, either. A number of the level files are bigger than the Gish executable!

I'd love to be proved wrong, but I'm sure I'm not.

Keeping the Turbo code to yourself isn't very productive at this point, why not share? :)

I suggest watching the official gish trailer, located here:

It might help. ;)

I'm sure I've overlooked something simple and obvious, but how are the bosses of chapter 5 beaten?

Yes, yes you have. :)

Try seeing what those buttons do, on the platforms above. You'll need a fair amount of force to press them, though.

General Discussion / Hate World 3?

I hated them the first time through, but they've actually started to grow on me, after having to repeat the Isle of the Dead so many bloody times.

General Discussion / VS Game Suggestion
May 27, 2004, 10:40:06 PM
I'd be most interested in a gametype like the current Dragster, only racing vertically up an obstacle course instead of horizontally. I think that'd require a bit more skill than the horizontal racing.

Sumo is great fun, though.

General Discussion / New Level?

The patch will work for any version 1.05 or later.  The load time should be a lot better, and the memory usage is also less.  For the turbo mode think street fighter on the super nintendo.

Could you give us a hint as to how to get turbo mode? I'm getting pretty frustrated myself, as I was really looking forward to trying it out.

Will the new patch work for both 1.07 and 1.10?

Worked fine for me (1.10). Still can't find turbo mode, though.

Apparently even beating the game after getting every secret only gets you bragging rights.

We are going to have a turbo mode in the next version which should be done this week.

Sweet. Turbo mode sounds like a helluva lot of fun.

What sort of new content will you be adding?

And ... could we get another ETA? :)

Sure is.

I actually managed to do it on my first time through. I'm currently replaying the game to get the other ending.
