Gish Editor / Re: How to put green lines at sumo?

If you press 5 and drag the mouse to make a box that will be the are that you have to enter to win a campaign level. The other numbers do things too but I forget which one is the border for a sumo match... It should be in the editor.txt

I got a great idea!

piston:
you make a large wheel anchored at the center (obj. type 7) and then make a rectangle w/a normal-size wheel (6) at the end. attach the rectange to the wheel completely and then attach the small wheel to a part of the big one so that when the big wheel turns the block moves back and forth. You could set it up for example so that turning the wheel opens a door.

Gish Editor / Editor 1.5 Help

I downloaded the latest patch and it works great but I need to know how to get things from the old version into it. I tried moving the levels folder and other things but it won't work.

Yeah, good point. Let's call them custom enemies. Anyways, I made one that's in 3 peices and the peices on either side swing up and down. It leaps around all over and makes a GREAT boss!http://pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Robot: (in Gish) A machine w/ moving parts that is not anchored and moves around.

These are really fun to make. They might even work for small "boss" levels!
I made one that jumps, with a long peice on top and three small cubes below. The cubes extend and launch it. You can use it as an obstacle or a way to get up higher.
Then there's "The Hinge". It is simply two long blocks with a circle in between like a a joint. There is a piston atached at either end, so that it opens and closes and jumps around like crazy. A good obstacle.

If you have a problem with timing, (particularly with the jumper) just make a button in a slot with a block above that moves up and down and pushes the button every 1 or 2 seconds. Then link the bot to the button. Viola!

If you have any ideas, post 'em here! http://pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

There is one thing they left out. RUBBER BANDS are in the rope editor as number 0! I dont think they have any textures, though, meaning they are invisible, but I am still experimenting with them... http://pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> http://pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> http://pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> http://pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':O'>

Gish Editor / Gish Ideas!
September 18, 2006, 12:34:38 AM
I got another one!

A room where the walls close in and a few monsters drop down from the ceiling!
The walls should be blocks pushed by pistons coming from anchors on either side of the room.  You can have a door in the wall (or roof) of the room above that lets out monsters or objects out if you want them to fall in.  You can climb out with the moving walls.  Make sure the floor and roof are slippery so the walls slide.
You could try turning it sideways if you want....

Gish Editor / Tutorials are nice
September 17, 2006, 02:35:27 AM
I am having a big problem.  I have Gish on a Macintosh (Mac) running version 10.4.7 and whenever I open a level file I saved all the tiles (nothing else) look like "color fuzz".  It's driving me insane! http://pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

Gish Editor / Gish Ideas!

You can use this topic to tell people about your ideas for all your Gish inventions! http://pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
If you have a question about someones idea or have trouble making it work, let them know by posting it here.

Here's something to get things started:
Conveyor belt:

Knowledge: Object Editor, Rope Editor, Spinning wheels
Purpose:Moving things or slowing Gish down.

Just put alot of rotating wheels in a row. They should be high mass to prevent wiggling and high friction so it moves things better. Simple.

Giant Claw:

Knowledge: Object Editor, Rope Editor
Purpose: Killing Gish or monsters

Make t2 tall blocks side by side, a right-hinged block on the left and a left-hinged block on the right. Now make 2 anchors on the side. now attach pull pistons from the anchors to the OUTSIDE of the top of both blocks. These pistons should not cross over. Now set the rgb values on the anchors how you like and it should open and close!

Let me know if there's a better way to explain these! http://pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>  http://pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':;):'>
