Problems / Water is too dark
October 19, 2001, 04:18:54 AM
I also have observed this, opaqueness, if you will. It is like the pond behind my house, most murkey. Maybe brightening the anchor points might help with this too.

Problems / Short-Link physics bugs

Maybe the rigidity (is that a word?) of the joints has something to do with it? The boxes are very strong & heavy.

Problems / Short-Link physics bugs

If the cables were any heavier, a system to pre-stress (I loked it up, i was calling it pre-tension, but microsoft world english dictionary says pre-stress is the right word) the cables would be necessary. The cables sag enough as it is with their light weight, but if you were to make them realistic! They would rip everything apart rather than hold it up!. Perhaps the reduced weight was meant to balance out the lack of a system to pre-stress them.

Problems / Not working on ATI Rage Mobility?
October 21, 2001, 08:49:55 PM
Many people have described problems when running PFX on ati rage cards. Do you have the newest version? If not, download it and try again. If it still doesn't work, hope for a fix in the next version. Good luck!

Problems / Cant use left mouse
October 23, 2001, 08:57:25 PM
Do you have the latest drivers and version of pontifex? If so, I'm stumped. I've never heard of someone with a fast computer experiencing a similar problem. sometimes people with slower computers have difficulty with the mouse working on the big levels, but you don't have a slow comp. by any means. Anyone else have any ideas?

Problems / Mouse missing under version 19
October 23, 2001, 09:00:02 PM
Were you surfing  while you were playing? If a page finishes loading when you are looking at another window, often explorer will try to steal focus. Since pontifex was running full screen (guessing) it might have stolen focus without minimizing the window. Has this still happened when you are no using explorer?

Problems / Save Game?
October 20, 2001, 02:41:03 AM
Did you crash out of the game? This has happenened to me when I first start the game new with no bridges done, pass some and then it crashes. If you exit out properly I have never had any more trouble.

Problems / Game Running very slow ?
October 20, 2001, 02:38:43 AM
350 k6-2, 128mb, and 32mb tnt2. Only noticably slows down on the humongous levels. I think it might be a driver problem.

Problems / Voodoo/D3D?
October 20, 2001, 02:36:32 AM
Pontifex runs off of opengl, which would explain why the D3D looks lousy (How can it look at all? Unless your intel also has support for opengl). Wouldn't adding D3D support be pretty labor intensive?

Problems / The HAV goes through the bridge!
October 19, 2001, 04:13:43 AM
I think (notice the word think) that this is due to the collision detecting part of the engine. Unless it renders a frame where the hav is actually in the bridge, it has no idea that it ever is passing through. I remeber this happening with some old dos games back on my 386.

Problems / Joint boxes are ever in the same direction
October 18, 2001, 06:18:45 AM
I think this is a minor trade off for the generally dependable 3d model of the bridges. Still, the better the program can be made...

Problems / No structures from beside the Bridge
October 14, 2001, 07:51:19 PM
I tried the same thing, and had the same problem. I'm still working on that level, and putting a span there would be very useful. I wish I could offer some help, but I will tell you my solution when I get it done. By the way, your english is perfect!
