Lost... all... my... old... bridges...

Gah, its been a long time since I played Pontifex, and now I don't even have my old references to go by for designs.

Ah well.

I've downloaded the contest bridge. I'm still trying to get it to work, then maybe I'll post my initial score =)

I've submitted a 94K bridge. . . but I believe the winner will get to ~85K.

Those cables are tricky!

Used to own all 'extra' map pack records at http://pontifex.phantomtech.info/ . . . working to get the records back!

My third approach ran to around 贘k (that was the first that actually had no links broken); and two concepts later I am at 贎k. I will try to get it to go below 贄k before I submit anything.

I'm out of this one.  I didn't find out about it until late last night.  Maybe emails about the contests are in order.

Not much bridge cost discussion going on here... Surprises me somehow... Anyway, I got it under 贄k - did anyone else manage to do that?

Hmm.. just found out about the new contest - 3 hours to go is a bit too late for me, so I just want to say 'grats' to my successor, whoever will make it this time!

.. 3 hours later: Hmm, at least I could manage something sub 95k, so  I'm  going to send it in - who knows :)
(I'm sure my design can go sub-90, but now there is no time left to optimize it :(

Me!

The only thing is, I'm terrified it might pop a link when they test it... haven't seen it happen myself but lots of its close relatives did :-(

Not much discussion going on at all, was frantic in here the last time we had a contest - wonder how many entries there'll be?

If you want email notification of the next contest (anybody!), send an email to mailto:news-list@pontifex.mendelsohn.de">news-list@pontifex.mendelsohn.de and I will try to keep you updated on the latest developments. Your email adress will remain confidential with me and only be used for important pontifex-related info.

I think that this time, there will be much less submissions than the first time around... So not as much 'glory' for the winner... It's really sad that apparently a lot of people didn't know about the contest until lately... The mailing list is a Good Thing, hopefully there are more contests to come sometime soon.
BTW, my bridge is ๣k...

I'm too lazy to tweak it - my slow machine plays a part in this as well. I am currently debating myself whether I'll submit something in the 105k range or turn in my 110k solution and hope for a special mention for artistic merit... ;-)

Aw man. Amidst the mess and confusion that is both my life and my current computer status, I only managed to squeeze in a meagre amount of pontifex time, so I threw this 109229 monster together in half an hour

Maybe next time I'll put up more of a fight, ne? =)
