Yes, yes, I know there are other Roller Coaster products out there. But you did such a good job that I believe that a Roller Coaster building program would be excellent.

Following Pontifex...the train would instead become a roller coaster...and the bridge, the track.

Construction would have all the current attributes, along with the potential for failing under excessive gravitational forces caused by the weight of the coaster, it's speed etc.

It doesn't matter if the track is linear either, as some of today's RCs are just end to end and not looped.

hmmm, some serious engine tweaking would be nescecarry, probably a whole new one . . . the track couldn't be composed of segments . . it would have to be a curvey wavey type deal . . . . . good idea tho . .

stick to cool puzzle/thinking games like this to keep your fans . . . not enough good games like that out anymore . .

Hey Duckling, there is a game like what you described.... its called Ultimate Ride. It came out not too long ago, ant it cost me 40 bucks, but its worth it. It has just about everything you mentioned, even a first person view! i think the website is www.ultimateridegame.com

I LOVE this idea.. I have been a big RollerCoasterTycoon fan for some time and building coasters is WAY fun!

As well as just building the coaster you should have stats (like RCT.) Then the scenarios become:

- Build a Coaster with an excitement greater than X..

- Build a Coaster with X inversions.

- Build a coaster which can support 3 trains running similtaniously.

- Build a Coaster which reaches a minimum height of X

- Build a Coaster with a minimum length of X.

- Build a coaster with a minimum top speed of X.

- Build a coaster with a minimum G of X.

- Build a coaster with a minimum negative G of X.

And combinations theirof!

You could either have people build freeform coasters, or each level provides you with 'waypoints' which your ride must pass through.

I don't know if anchors would make as much sense for this than for bridges, but you could mark areas of ground which are stable are areas which arn't. (water, paths, roads)

OOooohhh.. Funky.. can you imagine the fan sites? Loads of people creating mad coasters.. (You should be able to paint them and give them funky names!)

And different types of coasters too!!! If you wanted to build using prebuilt bits then that'd be a steel rollercoaster. Or gameplay closer to BB would be wooden rollercoasters!

NICE idea! http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

And the "In Train" view would be a blast!!

right.. and here it is.. someone ELSE suggesting rollercoaster too.. lol YES.. rollercoaster from ppl who makes BB/PFX.. brilliant.. they already made incredibly unstable constructionwork possible with trains on them and coastees are very close already!
Q-tips violent crimes isnt the only thing on the rise...

ohhh, jumping coasters . . . . ooooh

if chronic logic made a roller coaster game with the same physics as Pontifex, it would rock!
