All the nice new options.  Finally I can change that bright green stress colour!

Good to see the Pontifex thing coming together too and all the promised stuff starting to happen.  Been seeing the game appearing on more and more websites, which can only be good.

ROFL - I seem to have started a 'What did Steve Meier actually write then?' thread.....

Yes, the momentum is building! Some day when the CL guys are filthy rich from making great games, we can stand back and say "We were there when it all started coming together!" And at very worst case, if the cL guys don't make it as great game makers, we can stand back and say "We were there when it all started to fall apart!" ;-)

Well, I don't know about Steve Meier, but looking for "Meier" on www.mobygames.com yields:

Sid Meier's Pirates! (aka "Pirates")
Sid Meier's Colonization
Sid Meier's Civilization (aka "Civ")
Sid Meier's Civilization 2 (aka "Civ 2")
Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire
Sid Meier's Covert Action
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (aka "Alpha Centauri")
Sid Meier's Gettysburg (aka "Gettysburg")
Sid Meier's Civilization II: Conflicts in Civilization Scenarios
Sid Meier's CivNet

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo, I refuse to believe CL could ever fall apart!!! [rolling on the floor humming with my ears plugged]

Have you tried his hot dogs too? http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> They are good! Or was that his brother?
beaujob: I wouldn't mind doing kung-fu in the shadow of a bridge that I built while death and a clown get it on in the bathtub next door, but that's a long ways off.

Yeah I'd love to see a retail packaged version eventually, and I really have faith that the CL team have the aptitude and commitment to do it if they ever feel they want to.

Let's face it, with some of the old weary titles being done again and again at 30 quid or more, a finely polished and packaged version of Pontifex would be bound to attract attention.

Sid Meir (of Tycoon series fame) is probably watching Pontifex with interest as we speak in the forums - LOL!

Good luck CL........

Sid Meier of TYCOON fame? The tycoon games were amazing, but who can forget that Sid Meier came up with stuff like Civilisation and Alpha Centauri? =) And of course, Master of Orion

Although Sid Meier is great, he did not do Master of Orion.  That was Steve Barcia, who also did Master of Magic.  They are both game design Gods.

falkon2

Sorry, I meant Master of Orion 2, which was based on Civilization more than it was the original MOO.

I wonder what he's doing now that Alpha Centauri has been out (for quite a long time)

Steve Barcia did that one too http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Hmm.. you're right. I wonder where I got that idea from, then.
