I hope everyone gets a chance to play Carmageddon 2 on the computer (I think it's on N64 too).  Not Carmageddon 1, or Carmageddon TDR 2000.  They're alright, but number 2 is the best.

The object of the game is to finish a race by either killing your opponents by hitting them with your car, killing every pedestrian on the map, or going through all the checkpoints (boring).

The crushing physics in the game is spectacular.  Have you ever seen someone try to drive a car that's bent all up like a taco???  Well I have, and it's Hilarious!

I was a huge fan of Carmageddon 1. My computer couldn't really handle 2. Played the demo for awhile and I have to agree with street, that game had some of the neatest physics. The Electoro-Bastard Ray was a lot of fun too! But I degress.

One of the neatest features and innovations at the time was breakaway parts, and dynamically damaged vehicals. You could damage your bumper, make a really tight turn that broke off the bumper, and use it as a weapon to kill more peds.

It was tremendously fun to get up onto the tops of some of the buildings, and then jump off to see what kind of damage you could cause. Carmagedon 2 was really advanced, and I've seen few other games approach the realisim of that physics engine. One of the best racing games ever for that reason. Even if there wasn't a lot a "racing" that was done.

Yeah, I dug the Carma1 demo, then Carma1, Carma2 was the best... winning all missions (remember the airport tower?), getting to all the hidden places... I don't really like TDR 2000 though, too, dunno why... Must be coz I have Pontifex now http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Carmageddon 2 and GTA3 are awesome games, the only bad thing about Carma 2 is that it's kind of cartoony. I just love great car physics. GTA3 is awesome. I stole a fire truck and drove in the wrong way down the street. Small cars and even vans were flying around, hitting trees, lamp posts and people. Hilarious!

the airport tower still gives me nightmares!

not really, but I'm glad to see some people have played carmageddon 2.

I've been playing Grand Theft Auto 3 for the PS2, it's got fairly good physics, broken windshields, pulling your open door clean off on a light-post.  Nowhere near the Carmageddon 2 level of bending and twisting though.

Hey street, are they bringing that out for PC? I loved GTA (one of the VERY few games I went out and bought) although the sequel was a major disappointment.

I just found Carmageddon 2 at a local Babbages. For less than Ů, I though it was a steal. Too bad for me it doesn't run on Windows NT/XP. I can't figure out how to trick it.
