I can't seem to figure out where to put the bridges I download or levels I make.  All the downloaded files are .brg and there don't seem to be any other brg files in the structure of this program.

I know the bridge files (brg) are supposed to go into the \bridge\ directory even though all the other files are pxl.  I can't see any brg files at the load bridge screen.  I also think I remember reading somewhere that the game can only see 12or16 bridge files at a time so I temporarily removed most of the bridge files in the directory.  This still did not work.

I have also made my own levels and can't seem to load then either.  I assume they are supposed to go into the \level\ directory.  But again when I save a level it is saved as a .lvl file and all the other files are called .pxl and just like the bridges I can't get the level name to show up in the load level list.

I have tried countless combonations but I guess I am missing a little piece of info or I'm just really stupid at the moment.  I'm a tech and an admin so I do have a good understanding of the file system so please the more detail the better.

Sounds like you are getting bridges for the old *llegal program *ridge *uilder.

New Pontifex bridges are .pxb extentions.

You can get the older program to play with by going to http://www.bridgebuilder-game.com" target='_blank'>http://www.bridgebuilder-game.com. The Pontifex community is still small, but growing. Darkwolf9 has a bridge pack out, and hopefully there will be more to follow his lead.

Here goes my best description of all the folders:
*Bridge - The saved copies of all your bridges, accessable through the load bridge option in on the title screen. When you download a copy of someone's bridge that has already been finished, put it in this directory.
*Font - The Fonts that PFX uses.
*Gamelvl - The level files for the normal & complex levels that came w/ the game.
*Level - Levels that you have downloaded go here, accessable through the load level option on the title screen. This includes the contest levels.
*Model - Contains the wireframe models of the train and cars that follow it.
*Screen - Screenshots you take with the F8 key are stored here as .bmp files.
*Texture -  The texture files for the game are stored here, including ground and the train.
*Wav - The sound effects.
About your file-type mismatches, are you using bridges you downloaded for bridge builder? They will not work with Pontifex.
I hope this helps to answer your questions, if you have any more, don't hesitate to ask. http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
