While looking up information regarding arch bridges, I came across this URL.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/bridge/build.html" target="_blank">http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/bridge/build.html
Its a nice bridge information spot with simple explanations and small photographs that go nicely with our simple game.  Check it out!
I realized however that pontiflex does not currently allow for realistic suspension bridges.  While you can make a short suspension bridge in pontiflex, the cables in the game are too slack and do not allow for the length that suspension bridges are noted for.  See the new ideas forum though if you want to talk about slack and pretension cables.

An even better PBS site (similar game, but more nicely done, IMO) is http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/buildingbig/bridge/index.html" target="_blank">Building Big: Bridges
This and other bridge-related links can be found on the links page at www.bridgebuilder-game.com .
