Hi alls

due to a crash, i lost all of my harddrive, i download again gish (full version) and i try to register, but i can't since the game don't allow me to enter numeric characters.
in the past i have got the same problem but solved it with a workaround (go in window mode, then change keyboard layout to american) but don't work anymore (perhaps due to 10.4)

i'm french with a french keyboard on a 12" ibook

what can i do ?

thanks a lot

You can't enter any of the number characters?  How are the numbers on your keyboard setup?  Please send me a PM with your hardware ID from the offline registration page and your e-mail address and I can send you a file to register for you.

here is the french layout :

None of the other keys will get you numbers?  Like not pressing shift and pressing where the number keys are?  Or holding ctrl-alt?  Several other people have had this problem but they were able to get it working, maybe it is something new in 10.4.

i have a keypad on a external usb keyboard, but it doesn't work in the game

Setting your keyboard as a US keyboard in your configuration will allow you to  enter the numbers.  You can change it back after you have registered and you should not have to enter the registration code again.  Sorry for the inconvenience to users with French keyboards.

Another user was having this same problem but with a US keyboard on MacBook (non pro) running Leopard.  He was able to solve the problem by enabling both dvorak and British keyboard types as inputs.  Upon disabling those (leaving only US as an option),  was able to register normally.  Does not make a lot of sense but some keyboard settings must have been messed up and switching fixed them.  Something worth trying.

The new patch (coming soon) with the universal binary support should also solve the problems with the French Ibook keyboards.
