you mean to tell me that there exists a clean solution to c11 and c15? SHOW ME!!! [please!]
c11: TT,0BL,Hard
Co9: TT, no BL, Hard, using anchor point to support bridge.
c09 - 53202
c12 - 55838
3. 31496
don't forget that cables can form 3D pyramids, too!
c12 - 50564 ;-)
There are only three scores that I beat, but they're all by a pretty good margin...
Complex LV09 = 59,734
Complex LV10 = 73,124
Complex LV12 = 66,004
[nitpick]
falkon2, there are easily more than 100 ways to get 7776 on c1.
[/nitpick]
Though I don't doubt that these are just more than 100 ways of getting breaking bridges - hey, most of them break before the train has even started ;)
Cable compression? I guess it's illegal (really, not just because it's YOUR bridge)...
BTW, how did you manage to compress cables in a useful fashion?
b: Are you sure those scores are for "Hard" difficulty?
Edit: c4 - 10912 =P Talk about a narrow margin! 6 bucks is barely enough to buy me some McD's =)
(Edited by falkon2 at 10:43 pm on Oct. 23, 2001)
I'm trying to hold on to my last two:
c04: $ 9501 ($ 217 reduction)
c11: ( reduction)
TT'ed, no BL, hard
c03 - 29515
Yes yes yes ... All on hard, no breaks, TT'able so to speak... I've got a version of Complex LV9 that costs 59,234 with no breaks until it magically collapses about a minute after the train goes over

I also just got Complex LV3 at อ,902
OK so lets confirm a few things. these records are:
1) No Broken Links
2)No Train Timing
3) Multiple Passes (or as the level defines)
?

c14 - 69780
Can't seem to make these collapse, tried lots of delays...

c03 - 29178
C1 7776
Mine aren't even worth posting... some I was close, only about a off,

Oh well. Makes me wonder how my awesome no one will beat it Contest entry will hold up now.
Yup, exactly as you described, unless CL decides to use the same rules as they did for the contest (bridge gets settling time)
c04:
c04 - 8859
What are the rules?
(Edited by The Tick at 4:26 pm on Dec. 5, 2001)
How? There are about 4 obvious ways to do this, which all break links at times.
Quote: from The Tick on 6:12 pm on Oct. 22, 2001
VRBones,
Your c09, are you "droping" your bridge from above, or using the anchor to support it?
Supported. In fact I didn't know what the fuss was about as my quick bridge had only 4 broken links. Took 2 goes to get it with none, then was planning on sitting back and seeing if anyone bit before optimising the #### out of it ;)
Hi, how's everyone doing? :)
I originally thought i had a new record for c01, but falkon pointed out that it breaks sometimes ... but not everytime... ran it twice earlier, no breaks. :-|

c11:
c04:
There are no rules, but to find out what they are nonetheless, a good place to look is
When is a clean bridge not a clean bridge?.
2 segments of track with light steel "studs"s at the Joint...
The left segment is flat, 8 HD units long, the second goes down to the anchor, 8 Units long 4 units down. The studs at the joint go horizontal to the right, 4 HD units long (no cross bar)
I've tested several times with 0 Delay and no broken links.
I just emailed you a copy if the description isn't clear
c06 - 48574
c07 - 30854
c08 - 65197
c13 - 92018
Snowkid: Trust me on this.. there are only four possible combinations that will give you 7776 and I can get all of them to break. This means the record stays at 7806, unless CL uses the contest rules for record (settling time), in which case I get the 7776 record anyway =)
Keep trying for the other levels, though.. Everyone's been busy with the contest and many of these records aren't the lowest they can go just yet.
c14:
c04 - 8615 - AAAAHHH it's unbeatable, ####, again I should have improved it to the max before submitting, I hate it when it happens ;)
Wow, been ages since anyone posted in here!
C10: 69576
C12: 49344
(Edited by Chillum at 11:10 pm on Mar. 26, 2002)
Ok, I tested several more times, and I see it does, in fact, break in about 1 of 10 tests on "Fast" and much more often when not on "Fast". Thats strange. Well, sorry bout claiming the record.
c02 - 20508
Every time I watch the #### thing I KNOW it's gonna break...but it doesn't ;-D
c12 - 55956
(Edited by Chillum at 5:25 pm on Oct. 30, 2001)
c14 - 87724
Master scores list has "c02 - 20506 - Gray", is this right? I don't see it in here (and I'd REALLY hate to be beaten by two lousy dollars!)
C01: 6776 Can't get any cheaper than that I think.
c13: 88752
c14: 68684
c16: 49686
Am I the only person still trying...? :-(

C09: 48650
Oops.. noted and fixed =)
I also added your missing c12 record.. My bad
Sorry, I am a newbie. I just found out and my prevous post was just wishfull thinking and writing.
Thought I got all records on 7 levels, but then I found out about the hard difficulty setting in the options menu.
Well, I thought I was a master bridge builder and it was fun while it lasted. My bridge designs at medium difficulty are falling apart at hard :-( Live and learn.
I have to withdraw my c07 record because it has come to my attention that the bridge relies on cable compression. So I'd say that right now, the spot is free to take.
C07: 38598
C11: 6400 (blatantly modded Chillum's 'bridge') [Edit: not clean, removed]
C14: 57974 [Edit: had to shell out 40 bucks to fix it, 58014 should be clean now]
(Edited by Gray at 1:16 pm on Sep. 1, 2002)
c07 - 30186 Using cable compression.. legal?
C09: 51506 (tweaked Gray's bridge)
C11: 6400!
[edit] posted too quickly... 6400 doesn't work if you leave it for a while
C11: 6616 (left side moved down a little)
[/edit]
(Edited by Chillum at 3:20 pm on Aug. 24, 2002)
c07: 34042 (did this a while ago actually, forgot all about it!)
c15: 16815 (blatant mod of Gray's 'bridge' - two can play at that game! )
Sorry, but if that 6616 'bridge' is considered clean, then I think we should review our 'cleanness' rules...
C15: 16672 (a mod mod - it's your turn!)
C12: 48690
Edit: See page three top for scores =)
(Edited by falkon2 at 5:14 am on Oct. 25, 2001)
Why I bother even trying is beyond me. I couldn't beat any of the level scores you listed (yet), but here are my records for my other levels w/ no broken links on hard:
c03: 36408
c06: 67462
c08: 108944
c13: 113784
If we are going to allow broken links for some of the "uglier" levels let me know and then I have some more additions.
For what it's worth:
c03: 33162
c04: 14372
c08: 66104
Oh gosh =)
Updated list, filled out the empty slots with my own level budgets too. Should be pretty easy to beat.
I've got two worth posting:
c04:
c09:
Both TT'ed on hard with no broken links.

c09 - Uh, clean? Not me =)
c11 - Uh, clean? Not me =)
That sounds like a challenge ;)
c09 - 81186 (non-optimised)
c11 - 23402
0,H,TT
I have a long way to go. Back to the drawing board.
VRBones,
Your c09, are you "droping" your bridge from above, or using the anchor to support it?
Just wondering if I should try again.
I've got a c13:
TT'ed on hard with no broken links.
c04: TT, Hard, no BL
(F2: will get me a lot of Micky D's.
)
Wow, that gives Gray 8 of the records and 1 shared... I hope none of those have big disclaimers about times you can't start them

Here's a quick reference for the top of page 3:
c01 - 7806 - falkon2
c02 - 21538 - Gray
c03 - 29902 - brett
c04 - 9718 - The Tick
c05 - 32040 - Gray
c06 - 48574 - Gray
c07 - 30854 - Gray
c08 - 65197 - Gray
c09 - 54356 - Gray
c10 - 70026 - Gray
c11 - 17676 - The Tick
c12 - 56114 - Gray
c13 - 92018 - Gray
c14 - 90184 - Gray
c15 - 19174 - Gray
c16 - 51241 - Gray+alcor
(Edited by brett at 9:22 pm on Oct. 24, 2001)
c09 - 54356 (involves some train flying - can't be avoided, can it?)
c10 - 70026
c12 - 56114
Sorry, brett ;)
P.S. no delay restrictions at all...
I have to withdraw both my c12 and c14 records scores, they broke links on a few timings that I hadn't found before. New scores are:
c12 - 53704
c14 - 87972
I've tested both on lots of different timings for at least 20 runs each, but even so I can't be sure they're gonna hold up for every single timing :-(
I've started a thread about this kinda thing in General Discussion.
(Edited by Chillum at 4:48 am on Nov. 3, 2001)
You've still got four to go...
Could someone take a few pics of their record bridges and post them somewhere? I'd love to see how you make them, and perhaps get a few ideas
c5 - 30840
c6 - 48332
Fight back!
I think most of the record holders would prefer not to publicise their designs. I suppose you *COULD* get in touch with the record holder for a specific level and ask nicely, though =)
ANY bridge on that level has to be a drop bridge, pretty much... and there are others in the lists that have wet trains. It just happens to be both at once!
(ok, so it's an almost completely submerged train... lol)
