Excelent. I have played the gish demo and liked it (even if it was a little short - it gets the gameplay across).
So when will the OSX version of gish be coming out, or if I buy the PC version, do I get to play it on OSX as well?
I assume that the OSX version of BCS must be almost ready now you have finished the show. Especially as you have finished gish and you are obviously sitting there twiddling your thumbs and browsing the web
The OSX version of BCS and Gish will probably come out around the same time, now that we are finished with Windows version of Gish. If you purchase Gish for Windows your keycode will also work for your OSX version.
Any news on whats happening?
I can hardly wait
Its just a port of 1.30 (it says 1.30 on the menu screen) so its probably that you never noticed, i never also
If you have purchased BCS and would like to test the beta version for OSX please contact us at support@chroniclogic.com with your order number, or e-mail used in your purchase.
It's now in the middle of Wednesday... Can you tell us what's happening?
And, again, it's better if it takes a little longer than if it contains lots of small bugs.
Yes that feature has always been there. One new thing added was mouse wheel support. I dont know if any Macs have a mouse wheel though. Maybe we will do a small update for the Windows and Linux after the OS X version is all finished up.
You still remember my info from a month ago? Otherwise I'll send it again. But I'll tell you now that the e-mail address contains an @, which is somewhere in the middle.
Edit: you have mail! I was planning to buy Gish once the Mac version is out, but why not now, now I have a chance to be a beta-tester.
Edit again: of course I also meant BCS. ;-)
Its now middle of friday
I found it in the meantime in the PC version.
And I'll try the mouse wheel once the list is full enough.
(I have such a mouse somewhere, although I almost never use it...)
I haven't got any replies and its been a while
BCS for OSX is in testing right now. Anyone who signed up for beta testing should get an e-mail by Monday.
My desktop Mac has a mouse with a scrollwheel, wouldn't have it any other way.
However, the Powerbooks and iBooks don't have mice connected so nothing other than the one button provided.
I know they're very busy, so I think we just need a little patience...
Now I know that (again)... do you mean today, next week or [fill in some monday]?
I got myself a copy of bridge construction set and I am having difficulty keeping myself away from it
I have a few suggestions on how the Mac UI could be improved in the game:
- support for command-z for undo
- support for command-q for quit
- possibily moving the setup application to the preferences option of the application?
- make the BCS application menu operational
- when hitting escape it take me back to the previous screen. I sometimes find myself hitting it be accident and having to restart my bridge again when I go back into the editing view
Just my 5c worth
Well, I'll always be here for when you need beta testers for the OS X version
Fill in some Monday next year
, no actually I just need to package it up, I will do that tonight
They are working on a new patch, which probably has some of that implemented (like 'setup' in settings, taken from Gish). Other things may be hard to do with SDL (like app menu, I think).
We are just fixing a couple of little things and packaging up BCS for testing on OSX, it should be ready on Monday.
coooool
thanks
it plays fine on iBook G4 1.2Ghz with 768MB RAM and 32Mb Radeon 9200 mobility

had problems right clicking with my single button apple mouse (theres no button
, my 2 button usb mouse works fine though
is there a right click shortcut?

Hi,
I have already asked about all of those features (except the cmd-z) so they are aware.
I also had a major problem with the escape key too. Don't know why but even after I knew it took me back, I still hit it almost every time I wanted to cancel a cable.
Command click does that, and I know it does but my hand just does the escape before I have thought about it
That's good news.

Command - click, which is used to end ropes and delete bridge sections
Like this?
if(creatingabeam) cancel();
else if(x) x(); // for every other substitute, if any
else exit();
I found that if you create a beam while holding shift down, the next beam will be created from the same point. Is this new, or did I never notice it?

I would tend not to call exit() in the middle of a program when someone presses the escape key myself!
Escape means different things to different people, but very rarely quit!
I mean like "Exit" in the top left corner.
Hi,
Any news on when the OSX version will be coming out?
Figured I hadn't asked for a few months and didn't want you to forget!
I have two new macs that really need to try it
Woody
Actually we are waiting for our Mac to arrive right now, then we can compile and test. We may actually have a mac version soon
Excelent - lets hope so !
Our system was sent out today, so we should have it in a few days
Only if its not coming from apple!
Haha thats trouble!
Just remembered this game again after not playing it for awhile. Got a mac in the meantime so I'm interested in this too!
Well I can tell you we have the MAC in our office now, the only problem is we will not have time to work on it tell after GDC (march 24-27). We have to basically finish two games before then. After GDC we will be working on the OSX version
