Why the decision to omit the creation of custom levels?
Yep, without custom levels the game looses much of it's attraction.
Pontifex Demo: 900k
Pontifex2 Demo: 11mb
Bridge It Demo: 177mb

Downloading now.
The levels are much much more detailed now, so there is not an easy way to make custom ones. They would have to be created in 3ds. This and the cost/time constraints on making the game is why custom levels were not included.
I think it is a mistake that the game only works on Nvidia hardware. I know it´s a "The way it´s ment..." game but it should atleast be playable on other dx9capable cards.
I had been looking forward to this game... now I can´t play it
.
Hope they patch it if possible.

Caprice
I can understand that, then. In leiu of custom levels, will there at least be the option to have a sandbox mode, of sorts, so we can go crazy with the included levels without any budget or material constraints? That would at least somewhat make up for the lack of custom levels, and shouldn't add much to the development time (maybe in a patch?)
I guess Nvidia saw it as a great tech demo opportunity to show of their cards. :/
ChronicLogic:
I can't find a way to activate Complex Mode. It is in there somewhere, right?

170 mb is a little much for a modem :P |
As far as I know there's no possibility to download the program. You have to pay another six bucks for shipping.
BTW, purchasing the game is a clicking-odyssey: First, I had to become a member of the Auran club, then I needed to start IE with java, javascript and everything (Opera seems not to be supported), then I can't download the game ... annoying!
A free build mode is very possible, I will check to see if anything like that is being implimented.
Complex mode editing, earthquakes, etc. are included in the full game.
I belive they are streamlining the purchasing process, after some feedback on it
/me anxiously awaits news
Thanks, that would be very cool.
Excellent. Thanks for letting me know.
Oh... i thought you had a choice to download it if you wanted to and then the gamebox would arrive in a few weeks... damn.
Yes there is a cheat for a free build mode, but you will have to find it.
LoTekk: The BCS demo is actually about 4MB
the full game is 11 MB. The full version has parts of Complex mode built in, it is a bit more limited then BCS though.
Caprice: You can read about this in our Bridge It FAQ
Tried the demo but it's more like a slideshow (~2 fps). I use a Ti4200 and an AMD 2500+ with latest graphics drivers (45.23). Is there some option to reduce details in the full version?
Another question: Are there thin beams in the full version?

Whee! Methinks you'll have my $20 the minute the link is available on the website.
By limited, do you mean that there will be no multiple editing planes? That would kind of suck.
How much memory do you have? Please post your complete system specs. The demo should not run that slow on your system. There are not thin beams in the full version.
Look for it very soon
I hope it's playable on a GF2. ;D
I guess not but I'll try anyway.
While downloading that massive demo I had a look around on your site about Bridge It. And according to the following I can't complain on the nVidia/others issue:
"Q: I understand that Chronic Logic was not involved with developing Bridge It for NVIDIA cards only. I understand that Chronic Logic did not sell their souls. I understand that without NVIDIA Bridge It would not exist. I understand that serious problems face this world such as wars, nuclear proliferation, world hunger, and Ben and J-Lo's wedding. However I still want to write Chronic Logic and complain about Bridge It (a game made by NVIDIA) only working on NVIDIA cards. I also want to tell them I will no longer support them by purchasing their products even though I never did. I understand that everyday I purchase products from huge corporations that exploit other humans worldwide while destroying the environment, but I think Chronic Logic is worse and deserves my personal attention. I want to tell Chronic Logic I am so pissed off I won't even support them by pirating their games anymore, what can I do?
A: Then please send your comments to hatemail@chroniclogic.com"
Brilliant, just brilliant.
Athlon 2500+ Barton
mainboard using nForce2 chipset
512 MB RAM DDR 333 (2x256)
GeForce Ti 4200 64 MB
need more?
The game (demo) runs smoothly on level 1 but becomes laggy in the bigger levels.
Bridge It is out! More info here.
LoTekk: You are correct, bridge it does not allow multiply plane editing, it does have raised deck, and crossbeam toggle options though.
Dreadnough: Thank you, we have however gotten complaints about the FAQ now as well. I guess some people do not noticed that its a joke, and its supposed to be funny. Its meant to take the edge off the issue and put it in perspective a bit, not to offend anyone.
Are the slow downs only on the desert levels, or in the forest levels as well? You should check the Auran forums for Bridge It, there is discussion about this problem. I think its some bug with some of the GeForce 4 ti. I had a similar problem with my GeForce 4 ti card.
no multiple editing planes? seriously? thats like selling a bubblegum without taste, playing computer without a screen or, even worse, driving my VW without an engine!!! well... not that bad, but its taking away a lot of the fun.
i think ill still buy it though, just need to get my comp to some friend with a fast connection. 170 mb is a little much for a modem :P
This looks very cool, but isn't it really just Pontifex II with MUCH better graphics?? Is there more to it than that?
Bridge It is in fact Pontifex II with much better graphics. It also some different vehicles, levels, and a few other surprises.
If BridgeIt and Pontifex II are based on the same engine, will pontifex II bridges/levels be compatible with bridge it and vice versa? I just ask, because it would be very cool if we could run collective contests.
The level formats are not the same, but it may be possible to convert from one to the other. I will get more information about this.
Any news on this topic?
Because Bridge It does not have custom levels it would not be possible to convert BCS levels to Bridge It, and it would not really make sense to convert Bridge It levels to BCS since you cant make custom ones.
Will Bridge It work on ATI cards?
Unfortunately Bridge It will not work on ATI cards, however Bridge Construction Set will provide as much if not more game play then Bridge It, it just does not look as pretty.

Could you explain this a bit more... - why not just spill it - the game is old enough now lol...
I would but I don't know what it is :)
Has anyone ever found out how to enable the freemode, if maybe someone from chronic logic could get in contact with one of the original programmers to tell us where to look that would be a start. How hard could that be, unless they are all dead now.
You'd think after 6 years, someone would had found it and posted the answer.
I'd like to try some wild bridges with unlimited money to withstand force 8 earthquakes. :(
Take a look at this:

I am going to test it for viruses and if it is clean post it in the downloads.
