woo! gish is spiffing.
i've beaten it, but not got the good ending yet, and found one warp zone but not the other (are there more than 2?).
when'll the linux version be out, then? i just want to show off my favourite OS running such a great game
OpenGL, OpenAL and SDL are all officially "good things" in my book, and it's refreshing to see a commercial game built using all three of these from the ground up (especially SDL over DirectX) rather than converted to them later.
someone else touched on the problems there might be with internet play (and I both agree and notice Chronic Logic don't seem to have commented on it at all yet), but is it possible we might at least see LAN play? this would be especially worth it if the physics engine is capable of handling 3 or more players at once (4 player deathmatch on a map larger than one screen. woo!) and if registered users could distribute multiplayer clients without resorting to piracy (TA style).
I, too, want my level editor! anyone played those yeti/penguin flash games? think height/distance block (or even self) throwing competitions.
a demo-recorder for speed runs would be nice. this game is just CRYING OUT for speed runs.
and one last question: anyone else found Gish's copy of Bridge Construction Set?
(at least I think that's what it was!)
Gish's copy of the Bridge Construction Set? Where can I find it?
I brought the BCS box to the end of the level, but didn't get a prize.
Has anyone else tried this? There must be something more to this level....
You're absolutely right: LAN-play and a Level-editor would be extra cool!
Yup, I just checked again - it's definitely BCS.
If you want to know where, highlight the white-on-white text below!
Level 5-1 (first level of the Rapture). Crawl your way to the top-left at the very beginning of the level, there are some easily broken blocks there. Keep going left.
