Gish released pushed back by a week
04/19/2004
Chronic Logic announced today it has delayed the release of its IGF finalist Gish.
The slightly anticipated release of Chronic Logic's IGF award losing Gish has been pushed back at least a week. To appease the dozens of eagerly awaiting fans, Chronic Logic has released a new gameplay trailer. The trailer and more game information can be found at
http://www.chroniclogic.com/gish.htm. A new release date has tentatively been set for Thursday, April 29th 2004.
According to Chronic Logic's co-founder, Alex Austin, "We've already poured hundreds into this project, and we're willing to spend as much as it takes to make this the best physics based side scrolling experience ever. If that means delaying the game two more weeks, we'll do it without any hesitation. If it means sinking another two hundred dollars into the project, we will do it. Also the delay is all Edmund's fault"
When asked to corroborate Chronic Logic's Josiah Pisciotta said, "Gish has been delayed, its really Edmund's fault". Edmund McMillen, the artist and designer on "project Gish" had no comment but had this to say, "I have no comment".

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA - SEPTEMBER 25, 2003 -- Game developer and publisher Auran Games (www.auran.com), in conjunction with NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, and Chronic Logic, the creator of the original award winning game Pontifex II, today announced Bridge It, an addictive PC game that uses cutting-edge 3D technology to immerse players in the challenging world of bridge building. A public demo of Bridge It can be downloaded today exclusively at
www.nvidia.com/nzone.
Set in the picturesque surroundings of colorful deserts and dense forests, Bridge It challenges players to strategically design and construct a variety of engineering masterpieces. Once a bridge is built, players watch in eager anticipation as the game tests the soundness of their designs as unsuspecting motorists, heavy freight trains, and tourist riverboats approach their bridge. Will the bridge hold or come crashing down? Adding to the challenge are environmental effects, such as earthquakes, and an intelligent scoring system that rewards players both for strength in design and for watching their budgets!
"With Bridge It we have created a game that will surely become a favorite to many for its hard-to-master gameplay and superb graphics. Using the Auran Jet® 3D engine and running on NVIDIA's latest GeForce™ FX hardware, we have also been able to create a host of real time effects that surpass many pre-rendered scenes," said Andrew Edelsten, Producer of Bridge It.
Bridge It takes full advantage of the newest NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX graphics processing units (GPUs) to achieve a new level of visual quality in simulation gaming. Designed with the newest software tools and graphics hardware, Bridge It is one of the first games of its kind to incorporate cinematic shading and lighting effects to create a realistic 3D world.
"Bridge It is one of those truly unique games that will keep you glued to your chair for hours on end," commented Keith Galocy, developer relations manager at NVIDIA. "While Chronic Logic nailed down the gameplay, NVIDIA and Auran worked closely to bring the 3D world of Bridge It to life. The end result is a stunning use of 3D technology that we can't wait for consumers to experience."
Chronic Logic's Josiah Pisciotta commented, "With the game being based on Chronic Logic's recent Independent Games Festival 2003 winner Pontifex II, and utilizing the power of the GeForce FX family of GPUs, Bridge It is sure to capture the attention of gamers worldwide. Bridge It is easy to learn and will appeal to all types of gamers with its clever design and fiendish puzzles."
A demo of Bridge It can be downloaded from www.nvidia.com/nzone. Full versions of the game will initially be sold online on Auran's website (www.auran.com/bridgeit) and then at retail outlets once publishers for various territories are secured.
